Chantelle Thompson

Chantelle is the passionate founder of Self Care Fitness, a proud mum of three beautiful girls (including twins!) and fur-mum to a playful whippet x Italian greyhound. At 43, she brings real-life experience, heart, and a deep understanding of the challenges many face on their health journey. Chantelle is also proudly neurodivergent and deeply values authenticity, empathy, and inclusion.
Her love for fitness began in 2014 when she joined Anytime Fitness, hired a personal trainer, and lost over 40kg—kickstarting a journey that would change her life. Over the years, she has trained across a wide range of modalities, including CrossFit, outdoor bootcamps, small and large group fitness, powerlifting, and bodybuilding. While she enjoys variety, building strength remains her greatest passion.
Driven by her passion to help others, Chantelle completed her Certificate IV in Fitness in 2020/2021 after the birth of her first daughter. Life had other plans with the arrival of twins, but in 2023 she began working at a local gym before launching her own business—first known as Strong Heart Healthy Mind, now proudly named Self Care Fitness.
Chantelle brings a unique blend of play, boxing fitness, and strength-building to her classes, building a loyal community on the western side of the lake. With her own lived experience of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and fibromyalgia, Chantelle leads with compassion, believing that movement is one of the most underutilized tools for mental wellbeing.
